The "Murakami Grand Festival" is a spectacular festival held in the historic castle town of Murakami in Japan's Niigata Prefecture that dates back some 380 years. Held on July 6-7 every year, the two-day festival features a 19-float parade highlighting sculptures that go back hundreds of years. Yutaro Watanabe is a master craftsman who works hard to create some of the featured floats for the festival every year with the help of many of his young apprentices. See the grand traditions that make this cultural festival one of the most exciting events of the year in Japan.
